Inside murmur’s intimate, living-room-like space, we gathered around Ezra Collective to experience 'Here Because Of Hope' together for the first time. Listening to the album alongside the artists created a space to slow down and take in the record as a whole. From its West African grooves and Caribbean rhythms to the sounds and influences of their home city, London.
The listening session was followed by a conversation with the band, moderated by Joy Caupain, exploring the stories, ideas and experiences behind the album and the journey that shaped it.

After the conversation, the evening turned into a celebration, with Ezra Collective taking over the decks and Super Sonic Soundsystem setting the tone throughout the night. What started as an intimate listening session quickly turned into a room full of movement, with everyone dancing like no one was watching.
A fitting way to close an evening built around music, stories and the collective joy of being together.

Rooted in the musical and historical journey of Black music, the record moves through different sounds, rhythms and influences while tracing a path from pain and injustice towards joy and hope.
