We are proud to announce that Bnnyhunna, close friend of Super-Sonic Jazz, released his debut album. “Echoes of Prayer”, marks a significant milestone for the musician who, in the last few years, has racked up a bevy of achievements, from scoring Paris Fashion Week performances and backing Asake with his bass skills on Lungu Boy, to composing an original score for the Dutch National Opera.
Echoes Of Prayer leans into Bnnyhunna’s West African heritage sonically, and draws from the conventional experience of growing up in the church. On the project, elements of ‘70s-era funk and Highlife grooves exist harmoniously in the same sphere as contemporary hip-hop rhythms, jazz undertones, and gospel choirs—all of which showcase his versatility. We recently sat down with Amsterdam based musician Bnnyhunna to talk about his recent releases, working towards his album, his vision for creating art and what he influences he grew up with.
