Nate Smith is one of the most exciting and dynamic jazz drummers of the moment. In 2017, he released his first album as a bandleader: Kinfolk: Postcards from Everywhere via Ropeadope Records, followed in 2021 by Kinfolk 2: See The Birds, on which he collaborates with guest artists such as Brittany Howard, Amma Whatt, and Joel Ross. In the meantime, he also released two other projects: the R&B-inspired EP Light and Shadow in 2020 and the breakbeat solo drum album Pocket Change in 2018. Nate Smith is driven, passionate, and impossible to pin down: he draws inspiration from a wide range of genres and is incredibly versatile. On Tuesday, November 11, the drummer returns to Tolhuistuin, accompanied by none other than keyboardist James Francies and Michael League (Snarky Puppy) on bass.
