Super Sonic Jam x Jembaa Groove

Super-Sonic Jam is a concept that originated in the basement of Paradiso during the annual Super-Sonic Jazz Festival in Paradiso. During these informal jam sessions, musicians and visitors came together to play together late into the night; everything revolved around spontaneity, creativity and improvisation. The regular visitors now know: a tight backing band stands on the floor in the middle of the hall, surrounded by visitors. During an improvised set, dozens of guest musicians and guest vocalists are invited to play. Visitors and amateur musicians are also welcome to join. We invited Jembaa Groove for this jam session. The seven-piece band is a melting pot of cultures due to the combination of members with African and European descent. Together they have created a contemporary interpretation of highlife, jazz and soul. Their live performances are energetic and compelling, with tight arrangements and spontaneous improvisations that take the audience on a dreamy journey full of surprising melodies and powerful vocals.

JELISA – EP release

JELISA is a versatile artist from Amsterdam, known for her warm, authentic voice. She mixes alternative soul with elements of jazz, soul, indie, funk and experimental R&B, creating an intimate, daring world where emotions run deep and creativity knows no bounds. Her music is influenced by artists such as Hiatus Kaiyote, Cleo Sol, Jordan Rakei, D’Angelo, Sade and Stevie Wonder, but she knows how to convert this into her own sound. Following the success of her debut EP ‘Season of Vulnerability’, she released the reflective single ‘I’d Rather Live in My Dream’. Her new EP will be released in 2025 and on January 12 we will be the first to see her new work.
