Ashley Henry is an award-winning jazz pianist, vocalist, composer, and producer. His album Beautiful Vinyl Hunter (2020) received international acclaim and was nominated for BBC 6 Music’s Album of the Year. He has toured as a band member with Christine and the Queens and supported Loyle Carner on his tour. Henry’s sound is influenced by his upbringing in London and his Caribbean roots, blending genres and drawing from classical training and the Black radical tradition. He is inspired by figures such as James Baldwin, Angela Davis, Ahmad Jamal, and Aretha Franklin.
In 2023, Henry launched his own label, Royal Raw Music, with the aim of exploring new musical boundaries. Two years ago, he captivated audiences at the Super-Sonic Jazz Festival in Paradiso. Now, he returns to Amsterdam, this time at Tolhuistuin, to showcase his new album Who We Are.
